Wow, things have been BUSY!

I can't believe it's been so long! I have been VERY busy with the launch of Odyssey Nail Systems here in Canada. I am extremely proud to be the distributor of this incredible brand. I was honoured to have Trang Nguyen, the multi talented man behind the brand, to help us introduce ONS at the Esthetique Spa Show in Toronto April '12...we are already booked for 2013!

Trang will be doing a special 1 hour class at this '13 show and we will have hourly demonstrations showing lots of special techniques with gel, acrylic and e-filing! I also hope to have a competition this year as well as a competition class to help nail techs prepare and to create some fun for all Canadian nail artists! Be sure to plan to attend this event.

I am now ready to launch the "ONS Inspirations" Ambassador Program to provide quality, consistent education across Canada as well as opportunity for qualified nail techs to advance within the business of instructing and educating. I will go to Korea this Jan. '13 to receive my training and judge the 13th Korean Nail Cup Competition! If you would love to take part in this annual training you can contact me to see how!
Please follow me here, my website http://www.inspiringnails.net, on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/InspirationsAndInspiringNailsAcademy, Twitter (@inspiringnails) and Youtube (inspiringnails) to find out more about ONS Products, techniques and what's new! Let me help you with your product purchases and advancement of your career!

I was thrilled to be part of the 4th Annual CNTC event in London Nov. 4 '12. It is always a pleasure to network with nail techs and meet new friends!

This January will be busy for sure and I am excited to also prepare to compete in the Nailpro Competition http://www.nailprocompetitions.com/isse-schedule-2013 in Long beach at the end of the month. I am thrilled to be having some fellow Canadians interested in this competition as well! Millie Hayman is organizing another photo competition, NANAA *North American Nail Artist Awards, to be presented at this show to....so much work to do! I LOVE the opportunity to create! I hope to see some great friends there!

Well, that brings me up to date on the happenings at ONS Inspirations and Inspiring Nails Academy...keep in touch by dropping me a line once in a while, ok!
Cheers!
Michelle

Memoirs of a Manicurist Celebration

Here's a little something I put together for a very special customer appreciation event I hosted. I had several live models to show off some of my creative works! They had the nails put on and they did a "walk through" fashion show for nails to a lovely spring video background and contemporary music. I also presented this "memoirs of a manicurist" video during this short program. I had placed several large poster size photographs of my works around the room to showcase the nails the models were wearing. I also had some editorials and 3D & Fantasy nail art on display throughout the room. This function was held a Colassanti's Tropical Gardens in the Hibiscus Room and was a catered wine & cheese reception with appetizers and live music for entertainment. I had fun candy apples to give away as favors and there was a draw for those who filled in and returned their RSVP invitation. Everyone was surprised to see the work involved in creating these very special nails and had a wonderful evening!
Thank you to everyone who came out to help celebrate my journey!

Watch for the addition of a video from the evening's highlights!

What an incredible time I had at the Long Beach ISSE show!

I finally got to meet, up close and personal, the talented Sam Biddle from the U.K. and am excited to say we are going to arrange for her to do a workshop here in Canada in the fall--woo hoo!

I was thrilled to be able to judge alongside the very organized and keen eyed Carla Collier, head judge for Nailpro and the lovely Anita Lime-Sims. Jewell had a great playlist to groove to whilst all the competition was in action! I also took an opportunity to run a couple ideas for a cover by Nailpro editor Stephanie Yaggy, if she's not too caught up in her wedding plans---CONGRATS on that! It was really great to see my friend April too and she's excited to be able to rock the custom designed nails I made for her at an event coming soon. *they were in the photo on my last entry ;-)

I was very proud of the girls who had come in from Canada to compete--Angie, Brandy and Natasha---you ALL did GREAT! I am thrilled with your passion to succeed, overcome obstacles and want you to know you can do anything you put your mind to! Congrats Angie and Natasha for making top ten and congrats Brandy on your 3rd place Extreme Stilettos---those were amazing!

It was nice bumping into so many who I have not seen in such a while like Nailpro Cup Champion Lynn Lammers, Precision Nails Jaime schrabeck and OPI friends John, Stephanie, Michelle, Renee, Bruce, Gabe and most memorable ELSA!!! Love you girl--MUAH!

I was also able to have a meeting with Trang Nguyen from ONS Odyssey Nail Systems and am excited to be looking into a training and distribution opportunity here in Canada! I hope to make this available here VERY soon!

Back to the grind this week now as I have recovered from a slight bit of jet lag----sooooo excited to betrying out a couple fabulous ONS drill bits and designing with some new nail art supplies! That is always a highlight to find.

Stay tuned for exciting things to be happening this year, maybe even as soon as the ESI show in Toronto!

Michelle

Thursday 19 January 2012

Well, well, what a day! It;s amazing how I can work along and every chance I get to come up with NEW designed nails I sit and create until I'm almost blind! I look up at the clock and ....OMG, it's getting late! I can't wait to show the gals some awesome ideas monday---woo hoo! Then, I might be able to shut off my brain and get some sleep :-)

I've got a model coming in sat. to help with a photo shoot and hopefully a new DVD demonstration---you know how hard it is taking step by step pics of your own nails! My poor practice finger is looking rather sad, thank goodness for a little oil so it pops off easily, ready for me to create again! I;ll be thankful for anothe live model sitting in my chair----YEAH!  *I hope to get the new pics and DVD out soon---watch for it!

Packing it in for the night---later nail art addicts!
Xx
*This is a set of nails I pre-made for a client in California. She is able to use a little dab of adhesive to put them on for a special occasion and remove them carefully for use another time! They are available for order for $180/set.
